Looking for His Father

Home Archived Looking for His Father

Dear Editor,

I am hereby humbly requesting your assistance to put my letter in your newspaper as it is.

My name is David Melchizedek Kandume (the only son to my father) and I am an Ondangwa resident. My cell phone number is 0812589259; P.O. Box 2164 Oshakati.

I am looking for my father.

My father’s name is Silas Nehova Kandume. He was resident in Omeyataahekele near Omadano, a village which is +/-18 km south-east of Eenhana in Ohangwena Region.

It was between 1976 and 1980 when my father went missing since he was taken away or arrested from home by South African soldiers and since then, he never came back home and neither have we heard of his whereabouts.

Since my childhood till now I have been thinking he might be alive and perhaps living somewhere in the world, but the mass grave which was discovered in Eenhana town gave me some suspicion he might be among those ones.

In the name of the National Policy of Reconciliation, I’m requesting any Namibian, and from former soldiers of South Africa who know about what happened to my father (Silas Nehova Kandume) to come out and give information where my father is to the abovementioned address.

Your information to find my father will make me stop thinking about him if he is dead.

Yours faithfully
David Melchizedek Pendapala Silas Kandume
