Meuwesen biggest winner at sport awards

The biggest winner at this year’s Namibia Annual Sport Awards (NASA), held at Lüderitz on Saturday, was the country’s top archer Jannie Meuwesen, who walked away with the prestigious Sports Star of the Year and Sportsman of the Year awards. 

Veteran marathoner Helalia Johannes won the Sportswoman of the Year award, while the Sportsman of the Year with a Disability award went to Ananias Shikongo and the Sportswoman of the Year with a Disability was won by Lahja Ishitile

The Junior Sportsman of the Year accolade was won by Daniel Hahn, while Christine Mboma won the Junior Sportswoman of the Year award. The People’s Choice Sport Star of the Year award went to Michael Muyenga, and the Professional Athlete in the Diaspora was won by Peter Shalulile. 

Junior Sportsman of the Year with a Disability was won by Fillipus Namweda, while junior Sportswoman of the Year with a Disability was awarded to Lahja Ipinge.
