NBC, Nored ink deal

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation and Northern Regional Electricity Distributor signed an agreement to work together in promoting and developing areas of mutual interest.

Following the signing ceremony on 1 March 2023, NBC will be responsible for the promotion and marketing of products and services Nored, develop content for public education and awareness campaigns on radio, television and social media platforms as well as consultation services.

As for Nored, the organisation will identify its marketing needs and requirements as per its marketing yearly plan and, wherever applicable and possible, utilise NBC’s services.

Nored acting CEO Toivo Shovaleka highlighted during the signing ceremony that Nored has identified stakeholder value creation as one of its key strategic pillars in its new five-year strategic plan: 2020-2025.

“This strategic pillar requires our renewed commitment to creating more platforms to engage more effectively with all our stakeholders, with the main objective to ensure they are more aware of our work, our successes and our challenges in general – on a more regular basis. As a company, this is quite clear to us that we need innovative solutions to address the many complex developmental challenges we face,” he said.

“Now more than ever, we need meaningful partnerships with stakeholders who are solution-centred in our efforts to address the issues facing our stakeholders in real-time.”

Acting NBC director general Menesia Muinjo said with its immense reach, the broadcaster can share messaging required by Nored, which will inevitably improve customer experiences and sole electricity deployment challenges.

“This agreement also brings with us the formation of a joint technical committee. This committee will seek to identify projects of mutual benefit and shall be constituted of a team from each party.”
