Nchindo crowned Miss NGO 2023

Martha Nchindo, who hails from the Zambezi region, was recently crowned Miss NGO Namibia 2023.

Jessica Katjiteo from Walvis Bay was selected first runner-up and Christine Samantha Nendongo from Windhoek was sashed as second runner-up.

The glitzy show took place on 4 August at Okahandja.

Nchindo said entering a beauty pageant is not just about winning but the bonds that one forms with the other contestants; “it becomes a sisterhood of strong and hardworking individuals”.

“On entering the competition, I didn’t think I would make it but at the end of the day, I realised that if I don’t believe in myself first, no one will,” she told VIBEZ!

Nchindo said the journey to the crown, although it was short, taught her that not everyone is as privileged as others, and that “when you give, it’s not the quantity of what you give that matters but the amount of love”.

During her reign, she plans to change and touch as many lives as possible, not only by giving donations but by helping the helpless and being a voice for the voiceless.

Nchindo will also strive to get as many kids off the streets and into orphanages, where they will be offered the chance to go to school.

“Doing so, we are not only shaping our future generation but building and creating our future leaders,” she said.

Meanwhile, the organisers expressed appreciation to the Otjisazu Guest Farm for hosting the finalists three days before the finale.

During their stay at the farm, the finalists did various fun activities, including game drives, mountain hiking and pool activities.
