Samaria seeks consolation win over Zambia

Having been eliminated already from the ongoing African Nations Championship, the Brave Warriors will use their last group match against Zambia to improve on the team’s performance. The Brave Warriors suffered back-to-back defeats after going down against group D rivals Guinea (3-0) and Tanzania (1-0).

Guinea and Zambia are topping the group with four points, while Tanzania is third with three points. Namibia will therefore play for pride when they face regional rivals Zambia tomorrow evening.
Brave Warriors mentor Bobby Samaria said he was impressed with the way his charges improved when they faced Tanzania on Saturday evening.

Samaria added the team created enough chances, which they failed to convert.  He, however, said heading into their last fixture against Zambia, the technical staff will use the match to improve the quality of the team.
“I think the boys did redeem themselves because I sincerely believe that we deserved something from that match. Last night (Saturday evening) we applied ourselves correctly and had very good moments in the game,” said Samaria.
“We combined well and created good chances for ourselves, which we sadly did not convert. I am not pleased by the result but I’m content with the performance of the lads.

We can only improve going into the third and final match. Yes, we are out of the running, but the Zambia match is another football match which we should use to improve the team.”
