NCCI Lüderitz branch elects new exco

Lüderitz – The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Lüderitz branch on Saturday re-elected Manu Namukomba as its chairperson, deputised by Inocencio Verde, during the annual general meeting (AGM) that took place at the Nest Hotel.

At the same meeting Erich Looser was elected as the treasurer, while Tuulikki Abraham, Naboth Abel, Aina Petrus and Leefa  Munashimue were elected as additional members of the executive committee.

More than 20 members of the NCCI’s coastal branch attended the AGM, which is one of the most important events on the calendar of the branch, since it provides members with information on the year’s activities and maps out future projects and strategies.

At the event the chairman, Namukomba, thanked the previous committee for its hard work to uplift the branch and to support Lüderitz businesses in the best possible ways in order to overcome the challenges faced by them.

Reporting to the chamber, Namukomba noted that for the past five years the NCCI’s Lüderitz branch had signed an MoU with the Lüderitz Town Council which ended last year. He added that such an MoU is crucial for both parties for the purpose of economic development and for the creation of a conducive business environment at the harbour town. Discussions have taken place between the two parties to revisit the current memorandum of understanding (MoU)  and ensure that a new five-year term working document is signed.

The NCCI’s acting CEO, Charity Mwiya, welcomed the elected Lüderitz Executive Committee members and encouraged them to proactively participate in the chamber.
