Pensioner shoots men over tombo
WINDHOEK - A quarrel over a jug of the traditional brew tombo resulted in two men being shot in Grootfontein. Sergeant Slogan Matheus from the Namibian Police Public Relations Division informed the media yesterday that a 60-year-old man shot two young men, aged 17 and 27 respectively, in the head, allegedly after a quarrel erupted over a plastic jug of tombo in Grootfontein’s single quarters on Saturday. The suspect was arrested. Also on Saturday at 20:55, at Hidipo’s Bar in the Tsintsabis area, a man was allegedly involved in a scuffle with a female in the bar and as he was leaving the bar, two brothers Albert Naseb, 25, and Piet Naseb, 22, were entering the bar. Without any provocation the man allegedly stabbed both men with a knife. Albert was stabbed under the collarbone, while Piet was stabbed on the right side of the neck. In Windhoek on February 26, at 08h00, at Commercial Investments Company, a driver of the company truck was assigned to deliver orders of cigarettes and liquor at various outlets around Windhoek. The driver failed to deliver the stock and instead abandoned the mini truck in Clemens Kapuo Street after disappearing with the goods worth N$320 000. The suspect was arrested and investigations continue. By Tunomukwathi Asino
