OMUTHIYA – A 33-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing an elderly man to death at Omutsegwondjamba village in the Oshikoto region.

Crime investigations coordinator Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo told Nampa that the incident occurred around 21h00 on Friday at a cuca shop.

The victim has been identified as Leevi Iitope.

“It is alleged that the suspect was busy working in the cuca shop. The victim intervened while she was talking to someone else. He started an argument with the suspect over incorrect change that she had allegedly given to a customer,” he said.

He added that the man allegedly slapped the woman, who is six months pregnant, twice.

He then reportedly pushed her onto the ground several times, and sat on her stomach.

“During the scuffle, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife from the counter, and stabbed her attacker once in the neck.

He died on the spot,” said Ekandjo.
