KATIMA MULILO – The Roads Authority (RA) has donated three houses, each consisting of two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen to the directorate of education in Zambezi region.
The houses will accommodate teachers at the Impalila Combined School and officials from the ministry of home affairs.
This is part of their corporate social responsibility.
RA CEO Conrad Lutombi said this during the official opening of Impalila low volume seal road last week.
Lutombi further handed over an ablution facility to the Sub-Khuta, which is part of the Masubia Traditional Authority, and was received by Ngambela (prime minister) Albius Kamwi.
Deputy Prime Minister and transport minister John Mutorwa officiated at the donations.
RA also donated state-of-the-art equipment to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security at the Impalila border post, which consists of two computers, two printers as well as passport scanners.
Alex Sikume, the director of education in Zambezi, received donated houses before handing over the keys to the principal of Impalila. He encouraged the staff members to ensure the proper utilisation of the buildings, in line with government policies in terms of occupation and maintenance.
He further stated that the houses should be allocated to staff members through proper administration.
