The Bank Windhoek Coastal Estate Agent Awards that took place on Friday, October 23, saw Remax Walvis Bay walking away as the big winner as the estate agency was crowned the Top Estate Agency at the coast.
The annual Bank Windhoek Coastal Estate Agent Awards aims to give recognition to residential and commercial estate agents and agencies at the coast for their commitment, loyalty and support to Bank Windhoek and its clients.
Lorin Burger of Susan Curtis Estates won gold in the category Achiever of the Year: Residential, while Claudia Lofty-Eaton of Remax was crowned the winner in the category Achiever of the Year: Commercial.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Christo de Vries, managing director of Bank Windhoek, said: “Except for the shortage in supply, the envisaged development of the harbour in Walvis Bay and industrialisation at the coast are currently the biggest influences on property prices. The industrial area in Walvis Bay alone has boomed over the past 24 months, with an average growth of between 20 and 30% in prices.
“Not only is the harbour development vital to the marine, shipping and fishing industries, but the new envisaged SADC gateway, together with the current bulk terminal expansion project which is underway, would certainly create new job opportunities, which may see an influx of residents to the harbour town. Bank Windhoek is looking forward to this enormous growth in property development at the coast and the opportunities it will create.”
