OSHAKATI

Trustco Namibia donated textbooks to eight schools here through the Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU) on Friday, June 8.

The donation is part of Trustco’s social responsibility towards its customers and the community where it is operating.

Receiving the 1 100 books, worth N$73 000, NANTU Regional Chairperson John Kanyemba said that although the donation was only meant for Oshana Region, NANTU has adopted a culture of sharing resources, skills and technical know-how, hence the materials were shared with other regions such as Omusati, Oshikoto and Ohangwena.

The schools that benefited are Endombo Primary School (Eheke circuit) and the newly-established Oshakati West Primary School (Oshakati Circuit) in Oshana Region; Ombandjele Primary School (Outapi Circuit) and Omuzu Wahauwanga Primary School (Onesi Ruacana Circuit) in Omusati Region; Nakale Primary School (Eenhana Circuit) and B. Ndilokelwa Primary School (Ohangwena Circuit) in Ohangwena Region.

The other schools are in Oshikoto Region at Emanya and Ekonghola in Oshivelo and Omuthiya circuits respectively.

Trustco was represented by its Assistant Area Manager, Liseenda Dornhel, at the occasion. A number of high-ranking officials from the respective educational directorates attended the event at Nantu regional headquarters here.
