The Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation and a catering company recently donated mugs and cutlery worth N$70 000 to the Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC).

RVTC trainees expressed appreciation for the donation from Seal Caterers and the Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation. The donations from Seal Caterers comprised of mugs and cutlery to be used by the RVTC hostel.

Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation also donated 20 complete tool boxes for auto electric students and 20 complete tool kits for electrical students at RVTC worth N$102 000.

“We thank Seal Caterers and Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation for the generous donations of these training tools and hostel kitchen ware. With this donation you should know that you have really contributed to the development of the youths, as this will contribute immensely to our performance in class. You have shown us the way ahead. This has given us the appetite to study as the equipment is now available,” said head girl of the trainee representative council at RVTC, Ritha Mutuku.

“This day shall never be forgotten in the minds and hearts of RVTC trainees and staff. Success is not achievable without the help of friends and in this case our two donors are our friends; let’s continue working together,” stated Mutuku.

She said a wise man once said it takes a village to raise a child – and now they have received the cutlery to use for their meals and equipment to use in training.

RVTC offers training in auto electrics, auto mechanics, bricklaying and plastering, electrical general, joinery and cabinet making, office administration, plumbing and pipe fitting.
In the 2016 academic year RVTC will introduce new courses in welding, metal fabrication and boiler making.
