Just as humans were created to be self-regulating and not be subjugated and subjected at the hands of equal others, so is the body. The body happens to be one of nature’s best masterpieces with the power of regulation and even healing. It has self-monitoring systems as well as mechanisms to deal with its shortcomings. All these can work and operate seamlessly if only it is given the necessary fuel that enhances and is in line with its molecular make-up.
Imagine having a car that runs on diesel and you put in petrol, water or any other liquid, and guess what happens. You may well plant seeds and start watering them with oil or any other substance than water and manure or fertilizer. Yes, you guessed it right, the car will eventually break down and plants will eventually wither and die, or the seeds may not even germinate at all. Even if someone had to propagate the use of that other liquid for your car or garden, one would dispute it with passion.
Now imagine if we had the same passion and concern when it comes to the body – probably one of the amazing and sophisticated pieces of creation that is also probably a great example of self-regulation and autonomy when in the best hands. Because in the best hands, this sophisticated machine can do great wonders. In the right hands, the body will function at its best without artificial interference. This is especially when the effort is coupled with the balance between mind, body and soul.
Perhaps it is even more important, apart from the popular and mainstream view, whose focus is on the infusion of substances and interference with every natural processes. It is also worth mentioning that there is a reason why in today’s health sphere, the focus is more on the physical aspect of wellness while ignoring the other natural aspects. There must first be understanding that the body, as much as it is physical, its immersion into and its wellbeing reliance on the mental and spiritual aspects, should never be undermined nor underestimated.
Clearly, the focus on the physical aspect only may even be deliberate, especially to industries whose livelihood and lifeline depends on it. To bring attention to the spiritual and mental aspects of physical health could mean a demise or a fall from grace. It would also mean bringing about the realisation of the true power of this trinity, and an epiphany into something that has always been evident. For those who may have experienced the power of the placebo, this should not be something they will struggle to understand. Unfortunately, to a man whose hearing is invested in the walls of the matrix and sorcery of human precious energy, this may as well be taken as conspiracy. For whoever has not first believed in self-regulation of individual life, will certainly not bear a thought of the infinite power of the body’s natural self-regulation. To know that once it is given the necessary nutrition and kept in balance with the other non-physical aspects in the realms of its operation, no disease shall prosper.
Just as it is true that mental wellness is one’s own responsibility – to constantly commit to the habits that are supportive to its achievement – it is also true to understand that, first, every piece of food or drink in the body is energy; not only the energy to fill the belly and keep hunger at bay but that it is this energy that feeds every cell in the body. If such energy is bad or not compatible with the make-up of every cell, one should expect disharmony and disease; so much so that if there also happens to be any bad information in the mental and spiritual faculties, the same energy is received and affects one of the body parts at the molecular level. For if all humankind knew this, none will indulge in any activity that does not sustain the mechanisms of the body’s gift of self-regulation and healing.
