NAYORE    member tackles climate issues

Esther Ananias, a Namibian Youth on Renewable Energy (NAYORE) member,
has returned from the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ) with a renewed passion for climate action.

She was amongst youth activists from all corners of the African continent.

The youngsters tackled critical climate i
ssues. The summer school programme was organised by the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA).

“Attending the NSSCJ was a transformative experience. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are equally passionate about climate justice was incredibly inspiring.

I learned so much about climate and renewable energy, climate financing, and climate and education,” she said.

The teacher expressed particular interest in incorporating climate-related topics into primary education.  She believes educating the next generation about climate change is essential for building a sustainable future.

“I am deeply grateful to NAYORE for their support in helping me attend the summer school. Their commitment to empowering youth in renewable energy is invaluable,” she said.

Drawing inspiration from her experience, she called on young people to join the fight for climate justice.

“By getting involved in advocacy spaces, they can create a cleaner, healthier planet for themselves and future generations. Together, Namibia has the power to make a difference,” she said.

NAYORE is a local non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering young people in the field of renewable energy.

The organisation plays a vital role in supporting Namibia’s transition to a sustainable future.
